Hey Everyone!
For this week’s post I am going to share a few of the things that I have made since my first Cooking post. I have made way more things than I have pictures of, but I almost always forget to take pictures. I am attempting to remember more often. π
First up I have my fresh salsa!Β Fresh salsa is SO simple and easy to make and amazingly delicious!! My dad has been making this for forever, but I only started making it this summer because I wanted it way more than he could make it, like for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Β π All I do is chop up onions, tomatoes and cilantro, and add a bit of salt and a splash of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. I prefer apple cider vinegar, but lemon juice works too.Β π
Next I have my favorite chocolate cake EVER! I absolutely love this cake! I have a ton of trouble making my cakes look neat (am I the only one?). Why is it that every time I make it something goes wrong? For example, my littlest brother eating part of my top layer, the frosting melting because it is so warm, anyway you get the idea. πΒ What I love about this cake is that even if it doesn’t end of looking like I was hoping it would it will always taste amazing!
As you can see, very messy looking! I made this cake for my littlest brother’s 3 year old birthday. We enjoyed it! π
Who doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies, I mean most people do, right? But for my great aunts birthday I wanted to do something slightly differently so I made a chocolate chip cookie cake! I looked at a bunch of recipes and ended up with this one. I was happy with how it turned out, definitely a repeat!
How has your week gone? Have you made anything delicious or beautiful recently?
Thank you for reading!!

WOW!!!! Your first picture, the apple tree/fly, is AMAZING!!! I love the crisp contrast between the green leaves and the apple. I also love the dapples on it π
My family has a recipe called Deep Dish Cookie Pie. It is delicious. π It looks sorta like your cookie cake!
I have wanted to make homemade salsa for forever! Do you just chop up your ingredients and then mix them? I am wondering about using a Vitamix to make a “dipping” salsa… just a thought I’ve had!
I love the cooking posts! I really enjoy being able to see the recipes π Love it!
Have a blessed Weekend!

I am so glad you liked my first picture!! I hate flies but I thought that it looked cool on the apple.
Does your Deep Dish Cookie Pie a family recipe? Is it made with pie crust?
You should try making a dipping salsa. I don’t why it wouldn’t work! Please tell me if you try to make it!!! Thank you. I am going to try to Cooking and Baking posts often. π
Thank you so so much for commenting!!!

About the Sonrise Farm series, they sound like amazing books, unfortunately our library doesn’t have them so we are ordering them online, I will tell you when I read them π

Yeah! Classy is the horse you told me about on TYM right? At the stable where I take lessons, I got to help with a Saddle Up Saturday where kids can come and learn/ ride horses for a day. And then after the kids had gone, we volunteers got to ride! It was AMAZINGπ€ I got to ride Smokey, a red roan appaloosa! It was so much fun. He is trained in English as well as Western so I could post trot. In the past, I have ridden Chip, a LAZY (π) Western Pleasure, quarter horse, so getting to ride a “snappy” horse was awesome!
Happy Monday π

Esmeralda, you ride, do you like to ride western or English? I ride English and I love it! I wonder what Jenna likes, too!

I used to think that I only loved western but now I love both both! What do you like about English?

Yes! She is the horse I told you about on TYM- you have a good memory! Helping at Saddle Up Saturday sounds like so much fun! The stables I ride at does a horse camp that I attended and we went bareback riding, but a lot of the girls had never ridden bareback so I got to lead them around, it’s so much fun to help, especially with horses! I love appaloosas! Riding “snappy” is fun! You must be in a different time zone, because it’s still Sunday over here π You’re “in the future”!
Have an amazing day!
