Weekly Verse #17

Hey Everyone!

I am so sorry that this post is a couple days late again! I plan to be back on schedule from now on.

Another Maya photo, since you all seemed to like the lsat one so much! 😀
A sky and snow photo!

Our verse for this week is:

Psalm 143.8

Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

This is such a beautiful verse and prayer. We all want to hear of God’s steadfast love and I think this is a wonderful prayer to ask to hear of God’s love.

What stands out to you from this verse? Anything? Which picture is your favorite? Do you like cat pictures or sky pictures better?

BIBPC #6: Category 5

Hey Everyone!

I am sharing my fifth BIBPC #6 picture today!

BIBPC #6 Team Bear

Anyway, here is my attempt at taking a picture of DISGUISE:

One of my brothers posed for me! Thanks, bro!

Well, there you have it my attempt. I hope you appreciate it, Megan. 😀

HELLO 2019! My New Years Resolutions!

Hey Everyone!

I hope that the start of your new year has been amazing! Other then Christmas break ending my new year has been pretty great so far!

All week I have been getting emails with posts that titles are variations of my title for this post, so I thought that once again I might as well join them. I have never been successful at fulfilling any of my New Years resolutions in past years (I’m sure I am not the only one), but then again I’ve never really tried very hard. My hope is that if I try I will be able to complete most if not all of these resolutions!

Complete My Goodreads Reading Challenge

Last year I set the pretty unrealistic goal of reading 400 books. Unsurprising I ended up not being able to complete my challenge, falling 123 books short.

I am kind of proud of my self, that I read at least 277 books in 2018. That is pretty good right!? If only I hadn’t set my 2018 challenge as 400 books. *sighs*

Anyway, I am pretty confident that I can read 300 books this year! I’m excited to see what books I end up reading in 2019!

Write In My Journal Almost Daily

During the last six months or so of 2018 I hardly ever wrote in my journal. I really missed it but I just couldn’t (or didn’t make time for it).

A couple days ago I started a new journal for 2019. I am hoping to finish it this year, filling it only with writing, not turning it into a scrapbook like I did with 2018’s journal.

Be Able To Do A Split

This has been on every list of goals and resolutions I have made for the past couple years, but this is the first year that I am actually stretching every day. So hopefully 2019 will be the year I am finally able to say that I can do a split!

Become A Better Photographer

I intend to read a bunch of blog posts about photography, ask my friends and family for suggestions and tips and find some good photography books to read.

Even if none of this helps I will just keep learning by taking pictures. I think practice is one of the best ways to learn anyway. 😀

Stick To My Blogging Schedule

Right now I am posting on Monday or Tuesday and Friday. It’s working well for me and I plan to stick with it.

Become A Better Blogger

I am really excited to learn more about blogging and improve my blogging this year!!

Spend More Time Writing and Putting Together My Posts

I always feel like I just end of throwing my post together. My plan is to spend more time and thought on each post.

Reach 100 Followers

I love knowing other people are reading and enjoying (hopefully) my blog, I am looking forward to my audience growing!

Thank you to all my wonderful followers and commenters!

Christmas 2018 Recap!

Hey Everyone!

My family had a really wonderful Christmas this year! It was amazingly not stressful! Until this holiday season almost every holiday or birthday for as long as I can remember something has gone at least slightly wrong or different parts of our family were super stressed. It was really awesome to be able to just enjoy our time with both sides of our family! I am so thankful that this Christmas season went well.

I want to share some picture I took of our nativity scene. I hope you enjoy them!

Another candle picture, I shouldn’t have too many more now that Advent is over.
They look so peaceful.
A cute succulent plant.
Aren’t her wings beautiful?
One of the three kings.
Mary and baby Jesus! Isn’t it so beautiful?!

How was your Christmas? What is your favorite Christmas food? Which of these pictures do you like best?

Merry Christmas!

(Sorry that this post was short! I should be back to my normal posting schedule next week!)

Christmas Carols and more!

Hey Everyone!

This week we don’t have a weekly verse, my mom decided that it wasn’t realistic to try to memorize a new verse this week, because I don’t know about you, but we are going semi-crazy getting ready for Christmas. I have no idea how I am going to have everything done in time! Every time I finish a project I feel so much closer to being done, until I think about what I still have left.

I wanted to share several of my favorite Christmas carols, so here you go!

Let It Snow Sarah Reeves

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Man it doesn’t show signs of stoppin’
And I brought me some corn for poppin’
The lights are turned way down low
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

When we finally kiss good-night
How I’ll hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I’ll be warm

And the fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we’re still good-bye-ing
But as long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, and snow

When we finally kiss good-night
How I’ll hate going out in the storm
But if you really grab me tight
All the way home I’ll be warm

Oh the fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we’re still good-bye-ing
But as long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

I didn’t ever really enjoy this song until I heard Sarah Reeves’s version! Now I am kinda obsessed with it. 😀

Another beautiful beeswax candle photo.

O Holy NightLauren Daigle

Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world, in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine, oh night, when Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name, all oppression shall cease

Sweet hymns of joy, in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine, oh night, when Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine

Christ is the Lord, O praise His name forever
His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine, oh night, when Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine

I LOVE O Holy Night! It might be my absolute favorite Christmas carol! So putting my favorite Christmas carol and my one of my favorite singer together is just amazing!

Our nativity set or as my little sister calls it our “activity set”.

How Great Thou ArtPentatonix (feat. Jennifer Hudson)

Oh Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout, the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee
How great Thou art (how great Thou art)
How great Thou art (how great Thou art)
Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee, oh to Thee
How great Thou art (how great Thou art)
How great Thou art

When through the woods oh, and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze

Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee (then sings my soul)
How great Thou art (how great Thou art)
How great Thou art (how great Thou art)
Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee
How great Thou art (how great Thou art)
How great Thou art (Great Thou art)

When Christ shall come
With shouts of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart (shall fill my heart)
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration (adoration)
And then proclaim, “My God, how great Thou art”

Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee
How great Thou art (How great Thou art)
How great Thou art (How great Thou art)
Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

I love Pentatonix and especially this song!

Well, I guess that is all for this post! I am not exactly sure when I will be posting next other then my BIBPC #6 picture for this week, but I should be posting again soon!

What is your favorite Christmas carol? Do you have a favorite Christmas album?

I would love to hear from you in the comments!!

Hey Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving (a few days late)!! I want to share some of the things I am Thankful for this year! Without further ado, here you go! 😀

I am so Thankful for music! Music is so amazing, I listen to music almost constantly, either on our family computer or on my phone while I am doing school. I don’t know how people lived before they could listen to music at home! 😀

Some of the songs I have had on repeat recently are:

A beautiful cover. Right?

I LOVE reading so much! Sometimes I think that without books I would go crazy. Books are such a gift from God! I am so glad that there are many talented people who love to write and are willing to share their stories with us! I am so Thankful for our wonderful library system that makes it possible for me to get new books to read regularly.

Several of the books/series I have really enjoyed this school recently are:

All the books that I currently have out of the library.😀

I have a couple of amazing friends who I have gotten to know better this year. I have been pen-pals with one of them for several years, but this year we have gotten very close! The other friend I am thinking of I have known (sort of known of) since kindergarten when we did homeschool stuff together. For a long time our families didn’t do anything together, but last year and this year we started doing things together, again. I have really enjoyed getting to know this friend!

You two know who you are (at least I hope you do!)! I am so Thankful to have you as apart of my life! Thank you for being my friends!

Another friend who I am Thankful for is someone who is like an older sister to me! Thank you for all the letters you write me and everything!! I am so Thankful for you!

Isn’t this great? I saw it somewhere and I just had to repost it.
Some friends and one of my amazing sisters.

I am so blessed to have the amazing family that I have! I so admire my parents and I am so Thankful that I am their daughter! I am so Thankful for every single one of my wonderful siblings! I love you guys!

I am also so blessed to have my grandparents be in my life so much! I am so Thankful for my amazing Tia! They are all such a blessing to me and our whole family!

This isn’t all of my siblings. 😀

What is something you are Thankful for? How was your Thanksgiving?

Thank you for taking the time to read this! Have a wonderful week!

Weekly Verse #11

Hi Everyone!!

I’m back! It was great to have a short break from blogging, but I’m glad to be back!

It snowed!! I can’t believe it! Honestly it has taken me all week to come to terms with the fact that it is not fall anymore, it’s WINTER! I (think that I) am ready to enjoy the beautiful snow.

I love how this picture turned out!
I took all of these pictures out of the window by my desk, all at different times of the day and several different days.

Anyway, now for this weeks verse:

Psalm 65. 1,5,9,11

Praise is due to You, O God, in Zion…By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance…You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it.. You crown the year with Your bounty.

What stands out to you about this verse? I love how it says that GOD visits the earth and waters it.

Do you have plans for Thanksgiving? We are having some family over and having a delicious feast together! What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? I can’t choose one favorite! 😀

Thank you for reading! I can’t wait to hear from you in the comments!!

Have an amazing week! I’ll be back on Friday or Saturday with a thanksgiving post.

Book Review!

Hey Everyone!!

For this weeks post I have a book review to share with you! It’s my first time writing an actual book review, so please cut me some slack. 😀

Kaelyn did a review on the second book in this series. I hadn’t heard of the series before Kaelyn’s review, so Thank You, Kaelyn! 😀

Anyway, I am doing my best to not have any spoilers, but if you are really worried then you probably shouldn’t read this!

The Healer’s Apprentice  By Melanie Dickerson

When I got the book from the library I was expecting another boring christian, historical romance book. I was pleasantly surprised that The Healer’s Apprentice was actually quite original! It was a refreshing to read an interesting christian, historical romance book. For the most part they are all the same, admittedly it was similar to other books but much of it was original.

The Healer’s Apprentice was actually suspenseful! It was fairly obvious that Rose and Lord Hamlin were going to end up together somehow, but I had no idea how until the middle of the book. It also wasn’t until about three fourths of the way through the book that it was obvious what Rose’e true identity was.

A summary of the book from Goodreads is:

“Rose has been appointed as a healer’s apprentice at Hagenheim Castle, a rare opportunity for a woodcutter’s daughter like her. While she often feels uneasy at the sight of blood, Rose is determined to prove herself capable. Failure will mean returning home to marry the aging bachelor her mother has chosen for her—a bloated, disgusting merchant who makes Rose feel ill.

When Lord Hamlin, the future duke, is injured, it is Rose who must tend to him. As she works to heal his wound, she begins to understand emotions she’s never felt before and wonders if he feels the same. But falling in love is forbidden, as Lord Hamlin is betrothed to a mysterious young woman in hiding. As Rose’s life spins toward confusion, she must take the first steps on a journey to discover her own destiny.”

The Healer’s Apprentice is loosely based on Sleeping Beauty. Honestly other then the evil sorcerer, I didn’t see many (or any) similarities to Sleeping Beauty.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes christian, historical romance books!

Well, I hope that this review was helpful. 😀

A few random really beautiful pictures!

Sorry that this isn’t longer, hopefully next week’s post will be longer.

Have you read this book? What is your favorite book?

Thanks for reading! 😀
