Boston Trip/ Jesus Culture Concert

Hey Everyone!

Let’s jump right in with this weeks post. 😀

Like I said a few days ago, my dad took the three oldest kids in my family (one of my sisters, one of my brothers and me) to Boston for a Jesus Culture worship concert on Sunday. It was so much fun! We went into Boston a few hours early so we wandered around the Boston Common area. It was my first time on the Boston Common, it’s basically just a green space in Boston. 😂

We went to a coffee shop and got sandwiches and a coffee to share, before heading over at 6 to the theater only to have a security person tell us that we couldn’t go into the theater until 6:30. We ended up getting another coffee from Starbucks this time (don’t tell anyone but I think it was my first time getting something at Starbucks 😀) and FaceTiming my mom and my younger siblings.

It was my first time going to a concert and it was really fun to go inside with so many other people! The theater we were at seats 2700 people, thats almost three times the amount of people that live in my town! Anyway it was a big day for me, a farm girl who lives in a tiny town. 😀

Anyway here are some pictures from our trip! Enjoy and more on the concert in a minute!

We were all the way up in the balcony but we could still see pretty well! It was really amazing to be in the same building as Kim Walker Smith!!! She is so amazing (so are the other members of Jesus Culture, they aren’t quite as amazing, though)!!!!

If you haven’t heard Jesus Culture’s semi-new album Living With Fire yet, you totally should! It kind of spoiled me listening to them live but it’s still great. My favorite song is Freedom.

Field Trip

Hey Everyone!

On Monday I went on a little field trip with my mom, a couple of my siblings and some homeschooled friends. We went to the Harvard Forest Museum, I thought it would be horribly boring but surprisingly it wasn’t!

They have twenty something beautiful, super detailed dioramas. It was so realistic, little trees with perfect leaves! It was all completely to scale, too! We did a scavenger hunt and it was crazy the little things that were hidden in them!

Sorry this picture isn’t great! there was a glare on the glass.

After seeing the dioramas we went for a quick walk through the woods. There were a bunch of beautiful trees! Here are some pictures from our walk!

Fall Leaves

Hey Everyone!!

I cannot believe that it is already the second week of October! It definitely looks like fall outside, rainy, gray and all the leaves yellow and red. On our farm the leaves are already falling and fading. Our backyard is covered in leaves. My littlest siblings and I started a leaf pile, but it is raining today so we will have to finish it tomorrow. 😀

I took a bunch of pictures of the leaves and the sky this past week and I wanted to share them with you! Enjoy!!

I love how there is a small patch of blue sky between the leaves.

I love this tree because there are several types of vines climbing up it, as you can see some of the leaves are yellow, others are red and the main tree still green.

I feel like this year I am seeing more yellow leaves then red. Is it just me?

The bushes seem to stay green longer then the trees. I wonder why?

Isn’t that dead branch cool!

What sparked your love for reading?                                                                                     

  I have always loved listening to stories! We have a bunch of pictures of different family members reading to me when I was little. 😀

Where do get your books?

From the library. I basically keep our tiny library in business with my inter library loans.  😂 Not really, but that is where 99% of my books come from. I am too broke to buy books, if I every buy a book it has to be one that I already know that I love. I would hate to buy a book and not even like it!

Where do you read?

In the car, at my desk (when I should be doing schoolwork, shhh don’t tell my mom 😂), on the couch, at the table, basically everywhere!!

When do you read?

While I am eating breakfast, during school, before bed, in the morning. Pretty much whenever I have a spare moment (and even when I don’t). 😀

What genres do you read?

Historical fiction, contemporary YA and middle grade fiction, fairytale retellings (is that even a genre?), biographies and autobiographies.

What are your favorite childhood reads?

Definitely the entire Little House On The Prairie series!!!! Who doesn’t love Laura Ingalls Wilder!

What are your favorite books?

Don’t get me started! Since you asked, I LOVE The Books Of Bayern by Shannon Hale, the Green Ember series by S.D. Smith, the Mark of The Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers, Disenchanted: The Trials Of Cinderella by Megan Morrison and so so many more!!!!

Do you read fast or slow?

Fast definitely, on a good day I can read several books.

Do you set reading goals?

I do. I set a goal on Goodreads to read 400 books in 2018! I have only read 213 books so far, I’m running out of time. I think that 300 would have been a more realistic goal for me. 😀

How do you track your reads?

On Goodreads! If you are a reader and don’t have a Goodreads account you should go get one right now!

Do you binge-read?

No, not really.

Do you fall in love with characters?

good question! I guess I don’t most of the time. They always find their perfect match anyway. 😀

Do you buddy-read?

Once in awhile, I prefer not to, although I do love talking with my friends about books that we have all read.

Do you re-read?

Constantly!!! At the moment I am re-reading the Mother Daughter book club books by Heather Vogel Fredrick (for the third time) and the Canadian West series by Janette Oke.

What’s the best thing about being a reader?

I couldn’t ever choose one thing. I love everything about being a reader and books!!

Hey Everyone!

For my post this week’s post I decided to post a bunch of picture that I have taken recently. Enjoy!

I love how the sky always looks different, no two days does it look the same, ever! God Is so creative!

More sky pictures! I could seriously take pictures of the sky all day, everyday and never get tired of it!

Milkweed Photos:

Hey Everyone!

My mom asked my siblings and I to paint pictures of the milkweed pods and silk, but I decided I would rather take pictures of the milkweed than paint pictures of it. I still had to do a little painting, but my mom let me take pictures for most of the time my siblings were painting. 😄

I hope that you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!

 

I really love the contrast of the white silk to the dark leaves and dirt!

I love how in this picture it looks like the milkweed silk is floating!

I really love how these seeds are standing up, they almost look like tiny trees or something!

Weekly Verse!

Hey Everyone!

Everyone week my siblings and I memorize a couple BIBLE verses, I thought that it would be fun to share them with you. Every Friday I will post our verses from that past week. 😀

What is something that you are thankful for? I am really thankful that it was warm and sunny this week. My dad was haying and the hay doesn’t dry out unless it is warm and dry. 

Do you have a favorite book of the BIBLE? My favorite book of the BIBLE is definitely Psalms!

Hope In The Lord!

Hey Everyone!

I just started school this week and so far it has been great. My mom has gone pretty easy on us, she usually does for the first couple weeks. 😀

For those of you who are in school, how has your first week(s) gone? Is there anything that you want prayer for this school year?

Anyway, I’ve been thinking and praying a lot about HOPE recently. My family is going through stuff right now and my mom keeps telling me and my siblings to have HOPE and to be HOPEFUL.

So, I wanted to share a couple verses about HOPE and a drawing I made. I hope that they encourage you.

A Short Reflection On My Summer!

Hey Everyone!

Who’s sad that summer is over? I know I am! It feels like summer just began. I am already looking forward to next summer!

I had a great summer! I was able to go to an amazing christian summer camp for a week, we had several rounds of family and friends come visit us, we went swimming many times and so so much more! It wasn’t perfect and it didn’t always go like we hoped and planned, things rarely do it seems, but overall my family had a wonderful, busy summer!

One of the highlights for me was when went to the ocean. We didn’t make it there for much more then half an hour, but it was still amazing! All of us had a blast getting slightly wet in the freezing cold water! I love the ocean and I wish that we lived closer to it.

 

I love the late summer sunrises! I rarely get up early enough to see them, but when I do it is definitely worth it! They are so beautiful! My aunt took this beautiful picture of the sunrise across the field from my house.

Hey Everyone!

I just want to say and tell you a bit about myself! 😀

1. I love reading!
2. My favorite book genres are historical fiction, realistic fiction and fairytale retellings (is that even a genre?). Really I like most books as long as they are clean and not too scary! 😀
3. My favorite author is Shannon Hale. I love her series, The Books Of Bayern! Especially the first two!
4. I mostly listen to christian music. My favorite artists right now are Lauren Daigle, Hollyn, Jamie Grace and TobyMac, If you haven’t heard their music you should totally check it out!
5. I live on a farm. We have dairy cows, pigs, chickens, a horse, cats and dogs.😀

6. I’m the oldest of a bunch of kids. I love being the oldest! most of the time at least. 😃      7. I enjoy taking pictures of nature, I’m not very good at taking pictures of people. I am trying to improve, though.

8. I love cooking and baking! One of my favorite things to make is chocolate cake! Chocolate is the BEST!                                                                                                                            9. I believe that GOD is the only true god! I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins!
