Garden Photography // Summer 2020

Hey Everyone.

This year, for the first time, my family has an actual vegetable garden. My siblings and Bella (my dad’s mom) put in a lot of hard work in April and May to establish the garden. I then took over caring for the garden in late May. At first it was rather tedious, watering and weeding every day, and not exactly enjoyable, but as the summer has progressed I am loving watching everything grow (and harvesting is so much fun!). It is honestly unbelievable how quickly everything grows and ripens! God’s creation is truly incredible.

All that to say, I took some pictures in the garden a week or so ago and wanted to share them with you. So let’s get started. ๐Ÿ™‚

Green Beans

Parsley

Thyme

Sage

Basil

Kale

Winter Squash (of an unknown variety)

Zucchini

Cucumbers

Cilantro

Tomatos

Do you have a garden? What are your favorite summer foods? What has been the best moment of your summer so far?

Spring Colors//feat. Over And Over- Riley Clemmons

Staring at a mountain thought I had already climbed

The weight of my mistakes hold me down like I’m paralyzed, yeah

How many times have I asked for grace

Standing in the same broken place?

I’ve given You every good reason to walk away

But somehow You choose me

Over and over again

You keep running to me

No matter where I am

Over and over again

I get lost I must confess

Oh, how quickly I forget

But You keep on showing me I’m loved, over and over again

God of second chances, here to catch me every time

I thought I was unlovable ’till You told this heart of mine, yeah

I’m worth more than my past mistakes

I’m never too far gone to save

I’ve given You every good reason to walk away

But somehow You choose me, over and over again

You keep running to me, no matter where I am, over and over again

But You keep on showing me I’m loved

Over and over again

In every sunrise I find

Another reminder of how much You love me

For all of this lifetime

You’ll never get tired of chasing my heart

Over And Over – Riley Clemmons

How are you doing amidst the current panic, anxiety and confusion of the world right now? What have you been doing to stay busy and somewhat sane?

Have you heard For King & Country’s new song with Tori Kelly and Kirk Franklin, Together? What have you been listening to? What is your current favorite song?

BIBPC #7// Category 7

Hey Everyone.

I can’t believe that it is already time for my seventh BIBPC #7 entry! The contest has flown by. I’ve really enjoyed participating, despite the fact that my team has had a very difficult time. It’s really fun to see what everyone comes up with for each category and seeing the range in how each person interprets each category. I’m really glad that I could participate in BIPC again and I already can’t wait for BIBPC #8!

team autumn

As you all are well aware by now I am part of Team Autumn. ๐Ÿ˜€

And without further ado, Category 7 is………………colorful.

Isn’t this gorgeous and so colorful! My aunt let me use her camera to take a couple pictures and this was one of them, I’m very pleased with how it turned out.

Wouldn’t the world be a far more boring and sad place without color? Can you imagine never seeing the vibrant colors of a sunset or the bright colors of flowers? So much of how we think of things being beautiful is connected to their color or even lack of color.

What is your favorite color?

BIBPC #7//Category 6

Hey Everyone.

We got some snow and quite a bit of ice. I’ve taken a bunch of pictures over the past few days and I’m excited to share them with you, soon, hopefully. Anyway………..it’s time for the second to last BIBPC category! I can’t believe it is already almost over. Time flies when you are busy. (By busy I mean reading every chance I get and probably not doing enough school. Just kidding, kind of.) ๐Ÿ˜€

The sixth category of BIBPC #7 is……………………gentle.

The fog softens everything giving the trees the soothing and gentle appearance. Fog can be scary if you are driving but it has a gentle beauty.

Do you have school break this week or next week? Have you had any snow or ice where you live?

Unreserved, unrestrained

Your love is wild

Your love is wild for me

It isn’t shy, it’s unashamed

Your love is proud to be seen with me

‘Cause You don’t give Your heart in pieces

You don’t hide Yourself to tease us

Uncontrolled, uncontained

Your love is a fire, burning bright for me

It’s not a spark, it’s not just a flame

Your love is a light that all the world will see

All the world will see, that You don’t give Your heart in pieces

You don’t hide Yourself to tease us

Your love’s not fractured

It’s not a troubled mind

It isn’t anxious, it’s not the restless kind

Your love’s not passive, it’s never disengaged

It’s always present, it hangs on every word we say

Love keeps its promises, it keeps its word

It honors what’s sacred, because its vows are good

Your love’s not broken, it’s not insecure

Your love’s not selfish, Your love is pure

You don’t give Your heart in pieces

And You don’t hide Yourself to tease us

Hey Everyone.

I love this song so much. I been listening to it over and over again for the past couple days. It is such a beautiful illustration of God’s love for us. It always makes me want to cry.

Have you heard this song? What have you been listening to? Do you have snow where you live?

P.S. Hannah is having a really fun giveaway! You should go check it out!

BIBPC #7//Category 2

Hey Everyone.

I’m back with my second BIBPC picture! It’s been fun to post regularly again. I haven’t posted this much in months. ๐Ÿ˜€

BIBPC #7’s second category is…………………………………………………..fast.

I had quite a bit of trouble coming up with a picture idea. After I went through the different things that the word fast made me think of, I realized that the words fast and fleeting have similar (or the same) meanings. That was when I decided on the picture I am about to share with you all.

Sunrises are so fast and fleeting. They are things of incredible beauty that last only several moments. Something that if we don’t get up early enough (like me) we miss. I challenge you to make sure to pay attention to the sunrise at least once in this next week. Maybe take a picture or just look at it and then fall back to sleep, you won’t regret it.

How often do you see the sun rise? Are you going to try to pay attention to the sunrise at least once this week?

January 2020 Playlist//An Icy Day

Hey Everyone.

Last week we got rain and it coated everything with ice. All of the tree branches, weeds, bushes and blades of grass visible, were coated in a thin clear glistening layer of ice for two days. It was beautiful, absolutely beautiful! When the sunlight hit the tree branches covered in ice the tree looked like it was covered in lights. Anyway, during this time I made it outside with the camera and managed to take some pictures and now I am going to share them with you!

As I mentioned in my Goodbye 2019 post I love music, singing and listening to music. Every month or so I come up with a playlist for myself and like I have a couple of other times, I decided to share a version of my January playlist with you all. So let’s get started!

BIBPC #7// Category 1

Hey Everyone!

Happy New Year! It’s so crazy that it is 2020. I am excited for this new year and thrilled to be participating in Megan‘s photography contest, BIBPC, for the second time! I will posting my pictures for BIBPC on here every week.

team autumn

I am on Team Autumn this year! I’m so excited to get started!!!

The first category of BIBPC #7 is……………….unnoticed.

I picked this picture for the category unnoticed because as I was thinking about which picture to choose and looking at my pictures from recently, I saw this one and I loved it. When you look at it you might be like, huh? why would she pick that picture, but as I looked at each water drop and each pine needle, I thought about how easily the beauty of each individual drop and needle can go unnoticed. This makes me think about why I love photography, it gives me an opportunity to bring notice to the little pieces of God’s creation that most of the time go unnoticed.

There you have it, my first BIBPC #7 post. I hope that you can appreciate and notice the little details in your life that usually go unnoticed as this new year starts. Maybe it’s that adorable little wave your youngest sister gives you when you smile at her, that hot cup of tea or coffee that you had this morning, that letter that you received in the mail or the fact that the sun came out today.

Are you participating in BIBPC #7? What do think of my picture? Do you agree that it is hard to notice the little things in life?

Goodbye 2019

Hey Everyone.

I can’t believe that it is already time to write this post. How in the world is 2019 almost over? Where did this year go?

Last year I wrote this post at the end of the year, I shared some of the books and songs that I enjoyed and some of the highlights of my year. That isn’t really what I want to do this year, but I want to write something and share somethings with you all. So let’s just see how it goes!

I read a lot this year, over 300 books according to Goodreads. I read some great books and some terrible books. I found new authors and new books by my favorite authors. My love of reading and books has not diminished at all and if anything has continued to grow.

Music and singing have become a bigger part of my life this past year somehow. For most of my life we have had music playing almost constantly in the background of our life. Different albums of music seem to signify different seasons of our life.

Over the past few years I have been finding my own music and listening to it on my own. Every year I expand the music I listen to, finding new (to me) artists and falling in love with different songs. This year my love and appreciation for and fascination with music, specifically singing and different people’s’ voices has really grown and I hope it continues to grow.

I’ve spent hours and hours in the kitchen over this year. It was a lot of the same things made over and over again, but I did try some new recipes. One fun thing that we made was foil packs! They were delicious and really fun to make. I cooked more potatoes then I could ever count and still love them. Chocolate is still one of my favorite things and so are apples.

My family went through some hard stuff, just like everyone else, but things are good now. Having the difficult and sometimes horrible times helps us to appreciate the good and happy times. I am so thankful for my family, all of my siblings and my parents.

Blogging this school year has shifted from what it was last year. I’m not posting as regularly, but I still enjoy it. I”m still trying to figure out where I am going with it. I’ve posted lots of pictures and reviewed a bunch of books. I haven’t gained many new followers and I’m okay with that, it isn’t my goal any more and that has changed my perspective of blogging and what I post.

Well, there you have it, a bit of a recap of sorts of my year. I hope that it wasn’t to torturous to read. ๐Ÿ˜€

I would love to hear about your year! What are some highlights or things you have learned?

You meet me on the mountain top

Youโ€Š see me in the valley low

Thereโ€Š is no home without You here

I find You in the crowded thoughts

You quiet all the question marks

Thereโ€Š is no space Your love won’t fill

I’llโ€Š trade all my fear for peace of mind, all my heaviness for burdens light

Andโ€Š this will be my song, that You are always good

I’ll sing it all day long, that You are always good

Andโ€Š when the day is through, I am left with, You are always, You are always good

I set my eyes on perfect faith

You’ll finish what You start in me

My heart will be an offering

Every melody you’re singing back to me

You’re singing back

Hey Everyone.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. I miss blogging every week, but as I am sure my fellow bloggers understand, life gets in the way. I have a few posts that I am looking forward to writing and posting, so hopefully I’ll be back soon.

We got our first real snow a couple days ago! It’s beautiful and cold. I’ve taken a few pictures but not nearly enough. ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope you all are well!
