A Little Adventure

Hey Everyone!

I can’t believe it is June first!! May flew by for me, filled with school and lots of rain (and reading). It was a pretty good month in a lot of ways, but I am very glad it is June.

School is almost over for my siblings and I. Our last official day of school was this past Friday. We just have some random stuff to finish up. I really cannot believe that my first year of high school is just about over and that every year I get closer and closer to being done with school for good, I am not far away from being totally done, especially if I don’t go to college. Anway, summer vacation here I come!

Well, by now I am sure you are wondering what my title “a little adventure” is all about, so I guess I should tell you. So about a month ago, my mom took my sisters, littlest brother and I too Rhode Island for a day trip. We had so much fun and I am thrilled to share some of the pictures I took!

We stopped in Newport to see the ocean. Where we went first there was basically just a huge space of rock by the ocean.

There were some little tidal pools that my younger siblings loved looking in. I think they found a couple little snails in one of them.

The rock was absolutely beautiful, the colors and all the little ridges and lines.

My sister Catherine and I had a wonderful time taking pictures of each other the whole day. I love this picture of me and one my sisters looking out at the ocean!

After we ate lunch we went the cliff walk in Newport.

I love the rocks and the ocean together!!!

Here a couple of the pictures I took of Catherine. I love how the wind it playing with her hair!

It was really amazing to drive by some of the really old (and new) mansions in Newport. what a beautiful place and so full of history ( like just about everywhere in New England).

I LOVE the ocean, about as much as I love chocolate and that is really saying something. One of my semi-attainable dreams is to spend some time living by the ocean. I just can’t get over the beauty of the ocean. It always makes me feel so small and insignificant and brings fresh amazement to me that the God who created the vast ocean actually cares about me.

The last stop of our “little adventure” was at a really cool tulip farm. They have a bunch of amazing different types! Every color you can imagine! They have pick-your-own tulips and also what they call their show garden, where I took all these pictures.

We heard about it from one of my uncles and his family. My aunt likes to take pictures of my cousins there and after seeing some of her pictures my mom couldn’t wait to go! I am so glad we made it, I have never seen so many tulips in my life! It was really an amazing experience.

I think this might be my new favorite color. Isn’t it amazing how the edges are lighter and as it goes to the center the color darkens and deepens?!

If I ever get married I want to have a spring wedding and I want my flowers to be white tulips and purple lilacs. The white tulips are just so white and clean looking, I can’t get over them.

Doesn’t this look more like a peony then a tulip?!

On the sides of the show garden there were these flower beds with all of the different tulips mixed together. I think that was my favorite part of the garden.

Wow, that was a long post with lots of photos. I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner! I really hope that you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed putting it together (not sure that’s possible though)!

Do you love the ocean? Can you pick a favorite tulip picture? What is a semi-attainable dream of yours? Do you ever do photo-shoots with your siblings?

  1. Oh, my, I’m so jealous. šŸ™‚ We used to live by the ocean, now we try to get back there a couple times a year, but this summer has been so slow to warm up, we haven’t gotten there yet.

Beautiful pictures!! And my favorite tulip was the white with the splash of pink. ā¤

  2. Those are some gorgeous photos! It’s always fun to take photos of the ocean. God’s creation is so beautiful to look at. And to think, that we’re His children! My family and I take photos and walk near the ocean every now and then as a little family day trip. šŸ˜„ One of my semi-attainable dreams is to be a photojournalist. I do sibling photo shoots with my sister a lot! They’re super fun to do! šŸ˜Š

  3. I love the Ocean soooooooooo much! I too would love to live near the ocean. I wan’t to live on the beach! As soon as you open the front door your feet hit sand. (Well I don’t know if I could live that close to the water, It doesn’t seem very save.) Okay, I would at least love to live in a beach town. I’m going o decorate my room all Ocean themed. It’s going to look like I’m under water. (Inn case you can’t tell I really like the ocean ;p) I soooo want to go to the beach this summer.

    I’m glad you had fun!
